APOA 2010 Music ShowS
APOA has sponsored music shows for about 25 years. These fun, family-oriented programs provide significant revenue to the chapters. That money goes back into the community through professional job-related training courses, scholarships, and donations.
This year’s shows feature sparkling classic Rock & Roll hits by:
The Diamonds
It will be a trip down memory lane for kids of all ages as this vocal quartet presents an array of timeless doo-wop hits. Tight vocal harmonies and great entertainment will be the order of the evening as The Diamonds take you through their classic hits—Why Do Fools Fall In Love?, Silhouettes, The Stroll, and everyone’s favorite: Little Darlin’. They also pay tribute to the classic four-part harmony vocal groups of the era as well as great solo artists of the time, singing such hits as—Blue Moon, At The Hop, Sherry, Day by Day, Splish Splash, Unchained Melody, Lovin’ Feeling, Bandstand Boogie, and an a cappella version of the Beach Boys unforgettable In My Room. Come and enjoy an evening of incredible entertainment! Rock on!
The Crystals
When The Crystals were first discovered, not one was yet out of high school. Their first recording, There's No Other (Like My Baby) was also their first hit which catapulted them straight to the "Apollo" theatre. They continued their successful recordings with five more TOP TEN records: Uptown, He's A Rebel, He's Sure The Boy I Love, Da Doo Ron Ron, and Then He Kissed Me. Two of the TOP 50 most popular records in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame belong to The Crystals. The Crystals now consist of Dee Dee Kenniebrew, who was there from the very first recording, Patricia Pritchett-Lewis and Melissa Antoinette Grant. The Crystals have a high energy show "that keeps them trim and fit" and has their audiences asking for more.
